This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until its done. It’s that easy, and that hard – Neil Gaiman

Who am I?

Hello! My name is Juan Pablo Guardia and I love to write. I am also a huge fan of people, and love to spend my time thinking about both why people do what they do and why they think what they think. These interests led me to study both Psychology and Biology at the University of Houston. After finishing both of these degrees, I decided to continue my studies by pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology. I ended up applying and entering into the Psy.D. program at the University of Indianapolis. I will be beginning my studies there in August of 2024 and hope to graduate in 2029. My goal is to become a psychologist and help as many people as I can to live happy and productive lives. In the meantime, I hope to share some of my ideas pertaining to human behavior and develop myself as both a writer and thinker by utilizing this space. Enjoy!

What is this?

This website is designed to be a space that I can utilize to hash out my thoughts on the topics that I find most interesting. The majority of my posts will relate in some way to Psychology, but there may occasionally be a post or two that pertains to a different subject. In terms of specifics, I will spend a lot of my time writing about human behavior and how I think it may be affected in one way or another by some sort of internal/external factor. A lot of my writing will draw upon my own personal experiences, but I will occasionally discuss other people’s situations as well. However, considering the sensitive nature of this sort of thing, I will only be discussing a person’s situation if it is publicly accessible and findable on some sort of online platform. The majority of the time, the posts that I make concerning other people’s situations will be based on a YouTube video that the person had posted. Regardless, whenever discussing someone else’s life, I will try my best to maintain anonymity by changing around certain facts and hiding information that could make them identifiable.

Disclaimer

I am not a licensed Psychologist. None of the advice, input, feedback, or ideas that are laid out in this blog should be viewed as coming from a professional. The only ‘credentials’ I have are two undergraduate degrees that do not pertain to anything clinical in any shape or form.
